I think there are moments in my life when I feel completely and utterly naive.
This weekend has been quite hectic as I have been doing events and photoshoots for work. I also have a huge event tomorrow, as I’ll be at Sunway Pyramid celebrating Valentine’s Day with a mic in my hand and a script to memorize which means, 今年我没有花… lol. It’s been a blast thus far with challenging myself with events and trying to occupy time with my random banter. I recently did a Bebe Customer Appreciation night where I compared the trendy Kenyan-print Kimono Blouses to the recently inaugurated half-Kenyan President Barack Obama. I think its hilarous when I have nothing better to do than to blurt out comments like that.
Earlier today, I shot for a website that I’ll be contributing to - it’s a restaurant review/food critic site for restaurants in Malaysia. I’ll be featured on their site -TBA along with a couple other celebs like songstress Hunny Madu. As for events, I’ll be seeing u guys at the FHM Girls Next Door Party to see who wins this year’s competition! I do have my favourites but I’ll say that most of these ladies are already winners, looking fine themselves!
Today, and among other days, it reminded me why I love my job and why I love waking up everyday working on a new project or planning for my next event/show. I feel truly blessed and then I think about how my path in life has taken so many tangents and how it wouldn’t be possible if God didn’t exist. My aunt reminded me about “surrendering myself to God” and my father probably is the biggest advocate for that.
But truth is, it can be difficult surrendering to a higher power when so much this industry relies on dates, markets, budgets, deadlines and waiting for everything to work so we can earn our own keep. One month turns into the next and planning a few months ahead could be next week already. It’s so easy to get lost. That’s when I feel wide-eyed, like an innocent child getting lost in this industry.
I hope God’s listenin to my plans and nudging me when I need to be nudged for another reality check.
